QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS on HOPEFUL HEARTS YOUTH WORKSHOP
1-What is the Hopeful Hearts Youths Conference all about and what inspired it?
The Hopeful Hearts Youth Conference, is a mentoring, counseling and prayer program for the YOUTHS who need to be guided mentored and prayed through the turbulent period of teenage life and early adulthood, a fete necessary to set the foundation for a successful life and marriage.
Our vision FOR THE YOUTHS is to try to curb / reduce the alarmingly increasing rate of moral decadence and marital failure amongst the youths in our society today by counseling, mentoring, prayers and regular workshops with men and women who through their own exemplary lifestyles, marriage and professional experience have a deep understanding of purpose in life, marriage and society.
The inspiration for Hopeful Hearts stems from my own experience of a failed marriage. Several few years I got married and unfortunately the marriage ended in a divorce at a time when separation and divorce was an unusual occurrence, at a time when there was hardly anywhere to seek proper counseling and guidance after coming out of a marriage. From my own experience I realize the importance of proper guidance, proper counseling before and after marriage. This cannot be overemphasized.
The truth is the signs and warnings of incompatibilities which could lead to a failed marriage are usually obvious in the relationship before marriage but many youths are usually too naïve and inexperienced to understand them.
2. Who are the people or organization behind it?
The organization – The Hopeful Hearts Global Network which I coordinate, is a non-denominational, non-profit making Organization and two-fold Ministry, first to matured singles, widows, widowers, divorcees, single parents who have suffered marital delays or setbacks at some point or the other and to the YOUTHS aged 18 and above with powerful potentials who need to build their future.
We are a team of professional and accomplished men and women who have volunteered our time to serve as counselors and mentors to the Youth as a way of contributing our own quota to the development of our children and the society in general by ensuring that our children are adequately prepared and guided to fulfill their purpose and destiny regardless of the distractions confronting them on a daily basis.

3. Is this the first time it is happening? .
Yes it is! Our first youth workshop was held on the 28th of December 2017 and to the Glory of God we had a good turn out of the youths. The feedback and testimonies have been quite encouraging. One of such is this testimony from a young lady who attended the forum:
Good morning ma,
I attended the seminar/prayer rally you organized on Thursday and I just want to say a big thank you and express my gratitude because I benefited so much from those few hours. I feel as though I was meant to attend, like as if God ordered my steps there because I had seen the flyer and was interested but because I’m so shy I didn’t know if I was going to go. Oddly enough, the exact Thursday I was visiting a friend and I was talking about it with her and her mum overheard us and insisted we went.
I’ve been at this stage of my life that I call a bottleneck — dealing with a lot of issues that were addressed that day! I actually filled the sheet of paper that was passed out for writing questions with notes and I went home and referred to those notes and I felt like I gained so much.
To me, that was the perfect way to conclude this year and place me in the right headspace for next year. God is so good because I was having a difficult time in preparing myself mentally and emotionally for the upcoming year and being positive.
I haven’t attended school for about three years now due to my parents’ financial issues and that gap has been really tough.
I absolutely loved how vulnerable, honest and concerned each speaker was. It was such an experience and I am extremely grateful for it. I hope that another event such as this will hold in the nearest future
God bless you.
4. What is the motive behind it and how often will it hold?
The essence of this program is to engage the youths in a speak out session, encouraging them to speak out on issues pertinent to their well being and future which they might have difficulty discussing with the adults around them.
The motive is to impact them with the correct balance of mindset and to encourage them to forge ahead regardless of whatever the world may be throwing at them presently.
With their questions answered and their hope restored, we are able to set them on the right track to fulfilling their destinies. The entire vision to see the lives of the youths turned around really can’t be achieved in one program but we have started the ball rolling with this first program.
We plan by Gods grace to have frequent workshops for the youths during their holiday season! Hopefully we can get regular sponsorship to enable us have as many workshops as is needed. The youths have also requested for a parents forum. This has become necessary because of some of the questions asked by the youths during the workshop. It seems many parents need to be reminded of the need to constantly interact and listen to their children.
5. Can you share with us a bit on the content of the workshops?
The content of the workshop is quite diverse and cannot all be discussed in one program but we were able to discuss some of the following: principles for successful living, responsible use of social media, abuse of privileges- Domestic staff and parental privileges. Alcohol & substance abuse, appropriate and inappropriateness in dressing especially with the girls, on the job behavior, managing relationships, emotional health and wellbeing, how to handle disappointments in life and relationships. Handling Parental divorce, domestic violence in relationships, dealing with violent partners, etc.
